Resources & FAQs

WHAT MANUFACTURERS DO YOU REPRESENT?

We are authorized to service and sell parts from the industry’s major manufacturers – more than 40 brand names – including, but not limited to: Cybex, Life Fitness, Nautilus, Octane, Matrix, SciFit, StarTrac, StairMaster, True, TechnoGym, Horizon, Spirit, Adidas, Sole and Vectra.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT YOU ARE AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE PROVIDER?

Technicians are trained and authorized to service any piece of exercise equipment made by that specific manufacturer. Training usually occurs every few years.

DO YOU OFFER PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE SERVICE CONTRACTS?

Yes, we offer preventive maintenance service contracts on a monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly basis. Clients under a service contract qualify for discounted labor rates for emergency calls as well as benefit from a response time within 24-48 hours. Service contracts help to ensure that your equipment remains in top condition and can possibly extend the life of your fitness equipment for several years.

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR MY FACILITY?

You do not have to purchase a preventive maintenance contract with us. You will get priority service, better pricing and your machines will last longer if they are well maintained. If you would just like repairs done on an as need basis, we are happy to do that as well.

IF MY EQUIPMENT IS UNDER WARRANTY, WHY DO I NEED A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT?

Your warranty is in place to protect you in case something goes wrong but your equipment still needs regular maintenance (similar to your car) to keep it running smoothly. In addition, we may find a problem that can be fixed before it turns into a major issue.

DO YOU SERVICE FITNESS EQUIPMENT UNDER WARRANTY?

We are service providers for several of the major manufacturers. If we are not a certain manufacturer’s official service provider, we can usually still service it depending on the age of your warranty agreement. Always check to see if your equipment is still under warranty. If it is, please call the manufacturer first.

WHAT IS FITNESS MACHINE TECHNICIANS’ SERVICE WARRANTY AGREEMENT?

Fitness Machine Technicians’ repairs are warrantied for 30 days from the date of the repair’s completion. This warranty applies to the specific diagnosis made on your equipment. Parts are warrantied for 90 days.

CAN’T YOU JUST TELL ME OVER THE PHONE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS?

It is very hard for us to diagnose the exact problem of your equipment via the telephone. While you probably can provide a very good description, we need to run the machine and hear the exact sounds that it is making. A part may also be necessary, and we cannot rely on a customer’s diagnosis.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBERS ON MY EQUIPMENT?

We need the model number and serial number of your equipment when ordering replacement parts or requesting repairs. The model number is usually located on the front cover of your manual and on the serial number sticker. Your treadmill will also have this information on the power cord near the point of entry and on the interior side of the frame. Check your user’s manual for more directions on where to find the serial number.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WHEN I REQUEST SERVICE FROM FITNESS MACHINE TECHNICIANS?

First, one of our technicians will perform a preliminary diagnosis. Depending on the job’s complexity, one or more of our trained staff will then do the repair work at your site. Repairs usually involve cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and sometimes replacing parts. Each job will be billed upon completion on terms of cash, credit card, or check. A job is considered complete when necessary parts are installed and the unit is working properly.

IS IT OK TO PUT MY TREADMILL ON MY PATIO OR IN MY GARAGE?

It is not recommended for your cardio equipment to be in places where there is excessive heat and humidity which can cause rust and ruin electronics.

Many manufacturers discourage using their equipment in hot temperatures and may not honor the machine’s warranty if they understand your equipment is not being used as directed. Be sure to check the paperwork that came with your machine to determine if this is the case.

WHAT TYPES OF ACCOUNTS DO YOU SERVICE?

Our client list is long and varied for our repair and preventive maintenance services. Beyond private residences, we service equipment located in corporate fitness centers, health clubs, hotel gyms, apartment complexes, universities, physical rehabilitation clinics, and more. We have large national clients and well as smaller fitness boutiques.

WHERE DO YOU PROVIDE SERVICE?

We do not sell equipment. We are experts in the service and maintenance of all types of fitness equipment. We’ve been servicing the Mid-Atlantic States for two decades and now have locations in 31 states across the country and have expanded into Canada. See our locations page to see the closest Fitness Machine Technicians near you.

MY MACHINE IS GREATER THAN 10 YEARS OLD. SHOULD I TRY TO FIX IT OR BUY NEW?

When a machine is that old, it becomes very hard to find parts. We try our best, but we cannot always find them. In addition, replacing one part can sometimes cause another part to fail. This happens frequently with older machines. Please talk to us about the different options that you have based on the age, make and model of your machine.
